EarthKAM is a NASA program, in which schools around the
world have the option to participate in. Brunswick Junior High School
hosts the only EarthKAM SMOC in the state of Maine. The shuttle
Discovery will be orbiting the Earth for three days, at 120 miles (to
check on the exact date of the launch, click on the National EarthKAM
Page). BJHS will submit picture requests to NASA; NASA will then
program the camera to take the picture. The camera can take pictures
of the Earth from within the range of 28 1/2 degrees North and South
of the equator.
