Find four
women who were nurtured by their family's love of music and singing , add some
four-part chords and a little bit of chocolate and there is reason to Celebrate!
Whether it's blues, jazz , country or good old four-part barbershop style
harmony, this quartet loves to share its songs with audiences of all ages. All four
women are members of the award-winning Royal River Chorus of Sweet Adelines of Yarmouth,
Maine. Celebrate! is the 2004 championship quartet of North Atlantic Region One.
Tenor, Wendi McPike, comes from a very musical family. She joined Sweet Adelines
when she was only 13! She is married to Aaron and has two children.
Wendi is the Assistant Director of the Royal River Chorus. She lists her occupation
as Domestic Goddess/Piano Teacher!?
Deb Richard sings those amazing low-down bass notes, but she sang tenor for 15 years!! She is married to Mike and has two children and four grandchildren. A 20-year veteran of Sweet Adelines, she has served on Region One's Board of Directors and the Management Team. She is a financial advisor who loves to garden in her spare time.
Lead, Chris Ferguson, has been
directing the Royal River Chorus seven years. With 30 years of Sweet Adeline
experience, she has directed the chorus to two Division AA gold medals, the 2003
International Harmony Achievement Award in Phoenix and will bring the chorus to the
International Contest in New Orleans in 2005. Chris is married to Ralph, has three
children and six grandchildren. She and her husband own a convenience store, The
Village Kitchen, in Poland Spring.
Lisa Rideout has been singing with sister, Chris, since they were kids!
They sang together with Mass Magic Quartet for several years, winning blue ribbons
in 1981 and 1983. Lisa is an investment manager for the Norway Savings Bank,
she is married to Mike and has two children.
